"A Gathering for Heroes" Benefit Kicks off Memorial Day Weekend at DeMils
Money raised will go to House of Heroes, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free home repairs to military and public service veterans who cannot afford the repairs and/or are not physically capable of undertaking the repair work.

The Connecticut Chapter of House of Heroes, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free home repairs to military and public service veterans who cannot afford the repairs and/or are not physically capable of undertaking the repair work, will host A Gathering for Heroes benefit at Demil’s on Whitney, Hamden on Friday, May 24th at 5 p.m.
House of Heroes’ resident singer songwriter, Tim Maggart will provide acoustic entertainment on the patio along with Hamden recording artist Kristy Lynn. DJ Andy D will keep the music moving as Demil’s on Whitney shares a portion of the night’s proceeds with House of Heroes.
A Gathering of Heroes is the kick-off event for an entire Memorial Day weekend of House of Heroes activity. On Saturday, the group will complete veteran home projects in the towns of New Britain, Plainville and Berlin, culminating in a volunteer recognition picnic at the New Britain Rock Cats Stadium.
On Monday the House of Heroes Connecticut Chapter will participate in the Hamden Memorial Day Parade.

With the assistance from our financial supporters and many volunteers, House of Heroes will be able to honor veterans by ensuring that they have a safe place to call home,” states Bill May, Chairman, House of Heroes, Connecticut. “All contributions and our skilled volunteers bring us one step closer to achieve our goal of improving the lives of our heroes.”
