Clerk at Hamden Deli Mart Shot Early Wednesday
The victim was hospitalized and police are searching for the two suspects.

An employee of a local deli was shot in the stomach early Wednesday morning when he was closing up the business.
At about 1 a.m. Wednesday, police got a report of gun shots in the area of Goodrich and Goodyear streets, according to police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Diaz.
When officers got there, they found that the clerk at Tuskies Deli Mart on Goodrich Street had been shot in the stomach, according to Diaz. Officers learned that while the clerk was closing the store, two black men wearing masks approached him, sot him and took off, Diaz said.
The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, Diaz said, and his condition wasn't available.
The Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident, Diaz said, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 203-230-4000.
