Councilwoman Resigns From Hamden Legislative Council
The councilwoman is resigning effective March 1.
HAMDEN, CT — Councilwoman Paula Irvin is resigning from her seat on the Hamden Legislative Council.
Irvin, a Democrat who has served the 6th District since 2021, is resigning effective March 1, according to a letter posted on Facebook on Friday.
“This has been an incredible journey and a deeply rewarding experience,” Irvin wrote in the letter. “It has truly been my honor to serve our community, and I have cherished every moment of it.”

In the letter, Irvin said as she prepares to “embark on a new chapter in my life, I am filled with excitement and anticipation.
“The journey of motherhood awaits, and I am eager to embrace all that it will bring,” she wrote. “I am also looking forward to contributing to our community in new ways, as a parent, helping to shape a bright future for the next generation.”
