Dolan Sworn In As New Hamden-Bethany Probate Judge

Michael Dolan is replacing retiring Probate Judge Edward "Ned" Burt.

HAMDEN, CT — Michael Dolan was sworn in by Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz as the new probate judge for Hamden and Bethany on Saturday at Hamden Memorial Town Hall.

Dolan will succeed the retiring Judge Ned Burt on March 14.

Dolan, like Burt, is a lifelong Hamden resident who has practiced law out of his Hamden office for almost 30 years.

Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett and Bysiewicz both noted Dolan's commitment to serving others as an officer in the U.S. Army, as a member of the Hamden Board of Education, and as local lawyer.

In his remarks, Dolan said he will strive to serve the citizens of Hamden and Bethany like his predecessors, Judges Burt, Salvatore Diglio, and Guy Yale.

In addition to family and friends, Dolan was joined by the Honorable Edward "Ned" Burt, State Representative Laurie Sweet, Hamden Town Clerk Karimah Mickens, Hamden Town Council members Adrian Webber, Tasha Hunt, and Ted Stevens.
