Fire Displaces 5 In Hamden: Officials

A family of five was displaced by the fire, according to officials.

HAMDEN, CT — Five people were displaced from their home after a fire Tuesday night in Hamden, according to officials.

Crews responded to the fire around 9:15 p.m. on Savoy Street.

The American Red Cross is helping a family of five – two adults and three children – after the fire, according to officials.

“Red Cross volunteers distributed comfort kits containing personal care supplies such as toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire,” officials wrote in a news release. “Additionally, the Red Cross provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts, handling damaged items and more.”

No further information was immediately released regarding the fire.
