Fire Displaces Family Of 3, 2 Dogs From Home: Hamden Fire Department
The fire broke out early Friday morning.

HAMDEN, CT — A family of three and their two dogs have been temporarily displaced from their Long Meadow Avenue home due to a fire early Friday, fire officials said.
At 3:19 a.m. fire crews responded to the blaze and found "smoke showing from the eaves of the house as well as flames above the corner of the garage."
The fire was quickly extinguished, and the family was able to safely evacuate their home along with their two dogs, officials said. One family member was treated for smoke inhalation by American Medical Response.

The American Red Cross provided assistance to the displaced family. The North Haven Fire Department provided station coverage at Station 2 during the course of the fire.
The fire originated in the attic space above the garage. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hamden Fire Marshal Office.
