Hamden Firefighters and Police to Conduct Food Drive

Volunteers firefighters, alongside the Police Department Explorers, will hold the food drive Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.

The Hamden Volunteer Firefighters and the Police Department Explorers will be conducting a food drive to benefit the Hamden Food Bank. Non-perishable food items as well as pet food and diapers will be collected outside the Shop Rite store in the Hamden Plaza. The drive will be conducted on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food products most needed are: cereal, boxed milk (1 percent or 2 percent), oatmeal, canned fruit, pasta and sauce, bottled water and juice, rice (1-pound bag or box), canned potatoes and beans (all varieties). For pets, the needs are: kitten and puppy food, adult cat and dog food, treats and toys.
