In “The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle” we meet Aiden Bishop who is tasked with identifying the killer of Hardcastle’s heiress, Evelyn. Every morning he wakes up in the body of a different guest, and every evening Evelyn dies until he can break the cycle. Some of the hosts are more helpful than others and with constant twists and unreliable hosts Aiden doesn’t know who he can trust or how long he has before Evelyn dies for good and he is stuck at Hardcastle forever. Kirkus Reviews calls author Stuart Turton’s debut a “brainy, action-filled sendup of the classic mystery.”
