Hamden Library Announces Summer Reading Raffle Winners
Hundreds participated in this year's three-month summer reading program.
From June to August, 605 people participated in the Hamden Public Library's annual summer reading program, including 35 who partook in the inaugural online version.
Children who completed 12 hours of reading or more were entered into a raffle for special prizes, which were awarded on Aug. 16. The winners were:

Prizes included Dig Into Reading canvas tote bags, blow-up dinosaurs, beach pail and shovel sets, sand sifters, craft kits, books and DVDs.
"In a number of national studies, library reading programs have been shown to help youngsters retain their reading skills during the summer," the library said in a news release. "Congratulations to everyone who took time to “Dig Into Reading” in Hamden this year!"
