Have you ever wondered how much and what kind of information is being collected about you when you browse the internet? And how you can protect yourself against cyberattacks? Learn more by attending a free virtual lecture entitled Protect Your Privacy on the Internet, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The presenter is Dr. Igor Khokhlov, an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Dr. Khokhlov will explain how to avoid suspicious websites on your computer and mobile devices, what to do about “phishing attacks” and other security threats, and how to navigate and circumvent them.

This program is offered by the Hamden Public Library on National Computer Security Day. It occurs every November 30th to raise awareness of computer security during the busy holiday shopping season when people are more distracted and therefore more prone to security threats. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Register online at www.hamdenlibrary.org (click on “Programs”) or call 203-287-2680.
