Hamden Obituaries: Dominic DeCola, Jr., 59
He enjoyed spending time with his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 36 years who was his biggest pride and joy.

Dominic Alfred DeCola, Jr., 59, a long time resident of Hamden, passed away unexpectedly April 24, 2013 at home with his loving wife of 36 years, Julia Mary O'Keefe DeCola, by his side.
Dominic was predeceased by his loving father, Dominic A. DeCola, Sr. and his grandparents, Salvatore and Carmella Petruzzi DeCola and Angelo and Concetta Vastola Amato; his loving mother-in-law, Ellen O'Keefe and brother-in-law Jeffrey Holzbar.
In adition to his wife Julia, he is survived by his loving mother Anne Amato DeCola Fraulo and her husband Carmen Fraulo of New Haven, his loving brothers Salvatore (Lisa) DeCola, Richard (LisaAnn) DeCola, Sr. and Mark (Gayle) DeCola; stepbrothers Bob and Ricky Fraulo; his father-in-law Francis O'Keefe; sisters-in-law Nora and Theresa O'Keefe, Fran Holzbar, and Annmarie (Doc) Satterfield.
Dominic is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews and godchildren Christina (Richard Jr.) Baxter, Richard Jr. and Ashley DeCola, Jacqueline and Desiree DeCola, his godson Zachary DeCola, Nikki DeCola, Robert Bellucci, Sean O'Keefe, Andrew, his godson Justin and Ashley Barklow, Shannon Nadeau, great nephew Richard Alan Baxter III and great niece Audriana Bellucci.
He is also godfather to Sara Pavone. Dominic also leaves behind his greatest joy and beloved pets Clarisse, Holly and Teddy.
Dom was the patriarch of his family after his father and was always there for his mother, brothers and family. He enjoyed spending time with his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 36 years who was his biggest pride and joy.
He attended New Haven public schools and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1971. He attended Porter and Chester Institute and South Central Community College.
Dom was an architectural draftsman at New England Log Homes and prior to his illness was the Purchasing Director at UMC Electronics in North Haven.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the Iovanne Funeral Home, 11 Wooster Pl., New Haven, and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 11:30 a.m. in St. Rita Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
