Hamden Obituaries: Fredrick W. Corona, 68

Services for the life-long Hamden resident are Saturday.

Fredrick W. Corona, 68, of Hamden, died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford after a short illness.

He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Karen DeBlasio Corona.

Fred was born in New Haven on June 11, 1945, a son of the late Michael and Edith Sawyer Corona, and was a lifelong Hamden resident. He was an architectural assistant at Roche & Dinkeloo of Hamden for the past sixteen years, and had previously owned and operated the former Wallingford Barbell Company of Wallingford.

Fred is also survived by his daughter Jennifer and her husband Harry Tramontano of Hamden, a sister, Deborah (Frank) Pascarelli of Cheshire and two grandchildren, Joshua and Daniel Tramontano. He was predeceased by his son, Michael J. Corona.

Fred's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. at the funeral home; the Reverend Dan Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.
