Hamden Police Investigating Mather Street Burglary

Hamden Police are investigating an early morning burglary that happened Friday morning.

At about 1:30 a.m. Friday, police got the report of the burglary at a Mather Street home, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

Officers found that someone had entered the home while the homeowner was in a second floor bedroom, Smith said.

"The individual stole several items from the kitchen and office area, which are located on the first floor," Smith said. Electronic equipment, a wallet and personal belongings were stolen, he said.

"Further investigation revealed that entry may have been made with the use of a key," he said.

Officer Michael Nawrocki and his K-9 partner “Hank” searched the area but didn't find anything, Smith said. The department's Detective Division is continuing the investigation, he said.
