Hamden Police are investigating a report of shots fired in the area of Dixwell Avenue and North Street on Thursday.
At about 8:45 p.m. residents in that area reported to police that there were numerous gunshots fired at a burgundy colored car, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
Police searched the area but didn't find anything, Smith said. A survey of area hospitals also didn't turn up anyone who could have suffered injuries from the incident, he said.
