Hamden Police Reintroduce PAL To Community
The Hamden PAL is holding an upcoming open house for the community.

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Police Department is reintroducing the Hamden Police Activity League to the community, Police Chief Edward Page Reynolds and the Hamden PAL board announced.
PAL is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering positive relationships between youth, police, and the community.
“Our mission is to promote partnerships through socio-emotional, educational, athletic, and recreational programs designed to encourage trust and cooperation among law enforcement and community members,” officials wrote in a news release. “We believe that by working together, we can create a safer, more supportive environment, for our youth strengthening the bond between our police officers and the community they serve. We will be offering programs to children ages 8 to 18.”

Hamden PAL will hold an open house from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 11 at Thornton Wilder Hall in the Miller Library at 2901 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden.
“Come meet the PAL board and learn about the exciting programs we will be introducing to the town of Hamden,” officials wrote.

Reynolds said that the PAL program has “always been a part of my vision for The Hamden Police Department and the Hamden Community we serve” since he was appointed police chief.
“The goal of re-introducing PAL to Hamden is to engage young people in a meaningful, positive way,” Reynolds said. “A young person who may have been headed in the wrong direction can literally have the trajectory they are on changed through PAL. By moving a young person in a positive direction, we can help them build life skills that will enable them make wise decisions throughout their lifetime.”
