The Town of Hamden's Youth Services Bureau will be offering two Red Cross-certified two-day instructional babysitting courses this summer, for youths aged 11 to 15.
The first session one runs on Tuesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second session runs on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Both trainings will be held in room 101 at the Board of Education's offices at 60 Putnam Avenue in Hamden.

These classes will be taught by Hamden Youth Services' Outreach Counselor Beth Chiarillo (a certified American Red Cross Babysitting Instructor). Each of the courses offered will provide students with basic information required to responsibly care for children, including feeding and diapering as well as emergency techniques necessary to ensure a safe environment.
The registration fee for each two-day training is $60 for Hamden residents, $10 for paid-Hamden Youth Center members and $70 for non-residents (includes the Babysitter's Training Handbook with CD-ROM and the certificate).
