Investigation Leads to Pot Bust Friday

Members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team executed a search and seizure warrant at 310 Goodrich St. Friday and confiscated a large quantity of marijuana, according to police.

"Investigators conducted a lengthy investigation, which led to the search," said police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. "A large quantity of marijuana was seized.

A Hamden man also was arrested in connection with the investigation, Smith said.

Rocco Sweat, 24, of 661 Pine Rock Ave., Hamden, was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana With the Intent to Sell.

Sweat, who was released after posting a $10,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on November 15, Smith said.
