Joseph Amento, 85, of Hamden died September 24, 2012 in the Hospital of St. Raphael.
He was the husband of the late Josephine Gargano Savo Amento and the father of Sussane Apuzzo, Robert, Carmine and Joseph Amento and John Savo. He was the brother of Salvatore, Carl and Edward Amento. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Joe was born in New Haven on April 5, 1927, to the late Carmine and Lucy Marino Amento. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and had worked in the maintenance department for Setloware.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 at the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Pl., New Haven, and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
