Legislative Council Goes Paperless
Ipads are replacing piles of paperwork that council members had to cart around to meetings, joining the Board of Education, which has utilized the tablets for some time.
On Monday, there was something that was missing from the tables where the Legislative Council members said.
Papers. Piles of them.
Instead in front of each councilman was an Ipad that contained all of the paperwork necessary for each item on the agenda.
"We are trying to go as paperless as we can," council president Judi Kozak said. "I think this way we can save numerous amounts of paper."
But the best part is that constituents can now email council members rather than write letters, she said, adding that the email addresses are all listed on the town's website.
The Board of Education has utilized iPads for some time in order to cut back on the voluminous paperwork that can be involved in those positions, and now the Legislative Council wants to see if it too can save paper costs by using the new technology.
"I hope it works out," Kozak said.
