New Haven Man Charged with Mills Street Burglary

The burglary, which happened last summer, resulted in the lost of cash and a computer, according to police.

Hamden Police have arrested a New Haven man in connection with a burglary that happened last summer on Mills Street.

On Aug. 2, 2012, police got the report of the burglary and found that someone had cut the screed on a ground level window to gain entry into the home, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

Once in, the person stole a computer and about $150 in cash, Smith said.

Detectives Angelo DeLieto and Michael Ambrosino worked on the case and applied to the courts for a warrant for the arrest of Bernard Frederick, 46, of 210 Hamilton St., New Haven, Smith said.

On Monday, they arrested Frederick at Meriden Superior Court, where he was appearing on unrelated charges. In this case, he was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny, Smith said.

He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and was arraigned the same day. He's next due to appear in court on June 4.
