Obituary: Amalia C. (Molly) Jomini, 92, of Hamden
Amalia had many talents, was a staple in the community and was a dedicated teacher in the Hamden Public School system for many years.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Amalia C. (Molly) Jomini, died Jan. 4, 2022. She was born 0ct. 24, 1929 the daughter of late Professor Nicholas and Philomena Langiano Ciarlo of Bridgeport, CT.
Amalia was a teacher in the Hamden Public School Systems for 28 years, and a training teacher of adults, college graduates and students at SCSC.
During her 5 years at Mt. Carmel School, she developed the Pilot Program for Talented and Gifted in the Elementary Hamden Public Schools and moved to Bear Path School for 23 years.
She taught Civics and English to adults in New Haven seeking U.S. citizenships. She loved sports: basketball, tennis and especially skiing. She was an avid bridge player and a member of Mt. Carmel Womens Club, member of Quote Club which supported children with hearing problems.
Amaila was, along with her late husband, owner and operator of Alpenhorn Ski Lodge in Weston, VT.
She served as officer in Mt. Carmel Woman's Club, Mt. Carmel Art Association, Civil War Association, Quota Club and was a set designer for the Quinnipiac Players, Captain of Debate Team at SCSU winning championship over Wesleyan.
She enjoyed organizing and playing bridge games and player luncheons monthly. Amalia loved all areas of music, ballet, opera, classics, jazz, etc.
She was an accomplished organist and pianist. She loved entertaining as an amateur gourmet chef. She traveled throughout Europe and the states: enjoying camping and the outdoors.
Predeceased by husband Francois, daughter Suzanne, brother Enrico, survived by her son Marc and his wife Robin Jomini and nephews Nicholas and. Richard Ciarlo. Also many dear beloved friends and helpers.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Our Lady of MT Carmel Church, Hamden. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to ST. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
