Obituary: Carole Patton-Keim, 74, of Hamden

An adventurer with husband Mel, they visited Turkey, Greece, & Italy, rafted the Colorado River, and did Hells Revenge trail in Moab, Utah.

Carole Patton-Keim, of Hamden passed away at her home on December 12, 2023, with her husband Mel Keim Jr. at her side.

Carole enjoyed traveling with her loving and adventurous husband Mel. We traveled to Greece, Italy, Turkey, and they were awesome trips. We also went to Moab to take the challenge of “Hell’s Revenge”. We suited up with helmets. Mel drove the ATV and I was holding on to the panic bar, what a thrilling time! We also walked “The Narrow”. The current was moving and lots of rocks. The view was awesome. Then we went rafting down the Colorado River, oh yeah! We docked at the end and climbed a wooden staircase to the top of the mountain and were picked up by helicopter. What a surprise! We stayed at Red Cliff Lodge; the food was great. We went horseback riding, clear skies and awesome mountains. It was breathtaking! We enjoyed Las Vegas with great concerts and enjoyed staying at hotels and great meals. We went to Yellowstone and saw Old Faithful erupt. That was thrilling. Coming home was great. We enjoyed our home. Mel grilled and I was the sous chef.
