Obituary: Claro Malvar Estavillo, 74, of Hamden

Claro, known for his humor, huge heart and generosity, was always loving and truly devoted to his family and friends.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home) Claro Malvar Estavillo, 74, of Hamden passed away on April 7, 2021 after a long battle with his health over the last year.

Born in Banna, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on August 7, 1946 to the late Pedro and Maria Malvar Estavillo, Claro will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Adoracion Vicente Estavillo; his daughters, Joyce Estavillo and Jeanette (Rommel) Bernardo, all of Hamden; and grandchildren, Renjay Carl and Johan Rhys Bernardo.

Claro lived in the Philippines most his life before moving to Hawaii 26 years ago. For his last 9 years, Hamden became his home.

His sense of humor made him a popular man to be around.

Claro’s family meant everything to him and he proved this unceasingly with his huge heart and generosity.

Friends are invited to recite the Rosary with Claro’s family on Monday, April 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden followed by time to visit with his family until 10:30 a.m., when the procession will leave for his Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be private.

The Mass will be live streamed on the church’s website, www.olomc.org.
