Obituary: Enes Mazzacane Festa, 92, of Hamden

Enes was remembered her for her warm, youthful spirit, sass and unparalleled pride in her family.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home) Enes Mazzacane Festa, 92, of Hamden passed away peacefully on September 18th at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Born in New Haven on November 21, 1928, daughter of the late Richard and Aurelia Mazzacane, she resided in Hamden for over sixty years.

Enes was predeceased by her husband Louis A. Festa, brother Raymond Mazzacane, and sister Hilda Annunziata. Mother of Linda (Richard) Pegnataro of Branford and Donna (Kenneth) Ciardiello of Branford and Florida. Grandmother to David (Rachel) Pegnataro, Cristina Pegnataro and Kenneth Ciardiello.

Step-grandmother to Carmen (Kristine) Ciardiello, Elizabeth Leaming (Dean Calderoni), and Sara (Jason) Fieman.

Mrs. Festa is also survived by her adored great-granddaughter Georgiana Pegnataro, eleven beloved step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Anyone that knew Enes will remember her for her warm, youthful spirit, sass, and unparalleled pride in her family.

Always impeccably dressed, she relished in the time spent with her family and the lifelong friends that meant the world to her.

She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. A gifted baker, she was always ready to create a special dessert, one of the many ways she shared her love with friends and family.

Friends may visit with her family on Thursday, Sept. 23rd at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and may attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish/St. Rita Church, Hamden.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden following the ceremony. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
