Obituary: Francis H. Saunders, 89, of Hamden
Francis, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, served in the U.S. Army and was employed in the tool & dye industry for many years.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) In Meriden, August 20th, Francis H. Saunders, 89, of Hamden, entered into his eternal rest.
Francis was born in New Haven, March 15, 1932 and was husband to the late Lorraine Burke Saunders. Son of the late William H. Saunders of Bloomfield, Prince Edward Island, Canada and Mary Moakler Saunders of Saint Louis, Prince Edward Island, Canada and was predeceased by his brother Frederick Saunders, and his sister Rita Hannigan.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and by his brother in laws Thomas Hannigan of West Hartford and David Burke of Woodbridge.
Francis served in the United States Army was employed in the Tool & Dye industry until his retirement. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, who as a BMW cyclist traveled the U.S. and Canada extensively.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am in St. Rita Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in North West Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Tuesday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
