Obituary: Mary Elizabeth (Braden) O’Connor, 93, of Hamden
Mary, always dedicated and devoted to her family, worked for Southern New England Telephone and as a saleswoman for the Bridal Loft.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home) Mary Elizabeth (Braden) O’Connor, age 93, passed away at her home in Hamden on September 20, 2021.
She was the widow of William T. O’Connor, Sr. Born in New Haven on May 19, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Matthew Harry and Catherine (Allen) Braden.
Mary is survived by her children, Ellen (Lou) Cusano, Mary Beth (Bob) Stewart, and William (Peggy) O’Connor, all of Hamden; her grandchildren, Ryan (Meghan) and Brendan Pogonelski, William and Timothy O’Connor, Caitlin (Joseph) Innamorato, and Daniel Cusano; great-grandchild Connor Joseph Innamorato; and her sister, Regina Cummins of Branford.
Mary was predeceased by her grandson Richard Pogonelski, and her brother John Braden.
Mary worked at one time for Southern New England Telephone and later as a saleswoman for the Bridal Loft.
Along with her husband, she always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, many times involved with their Hamden Youth Hockey and High School Hockey teams.
Mary’s family would like to thank Bonnie Greco for her care of Mary in her time of need.
Friends may attend her funeral on Monday. Sept. 27th at 9:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden followed by her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave, Hamden.
Friends may also visit with her family on Sunday, Sept. 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital at: www.stjude.org/give/memorials.
