Obituary: Michele Maturo, 79, formerly of Hamden
Michele, an avid hunter and wine enthusiast, served as a police officer in Italy and also worked as a mason for the Plasticrete Corp.

HAMDEN, CT - (From Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home) Michele Maturo, 79, formerly of Hamden died Sept. 5th at Piedmont Med. Ctr., in Rock Hill S.C..
He was the loving husband of Anna Antonucci Maturo. Born in Amorosi, Italy, son of the late Amedeo & Maria Riccio Maturo, he worked as a police officer in Italy ( Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri) prior to coming to the U.S. Once here, he worked for many years as a mason for the Plasticrete Corp.
Michele was an avid hunter and enjoyed making wine and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons; Amedeo (Mechele) Maturo of Wallingford, Michael (Anna) Maturo of North Haven, and Antonio (Melaina) Maturo of S.C., a daughter Maria (Jeff) Tuchek of S.C., a sister Margherita Maturo of Hamden, and grandchildren Michela Piscitelli, Anna Taylor, Gina Foth (Eric) Amedeo, Miya, Robert, Isabella, Allasondra Maturo Justin, Ava Maturo Victoria, Alexa, Antonio, Marco and Skylar Maturo, and great grandson Bryson Taylor.
He was predeceased by an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held FRIDAY 11 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:15 - 10:15 at the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.
Burial in All Saints Cemetery.
