Obituary: Robert “Bob” Edward Alchimio, 90, of Hamden
Bob, a dedicated family man, was a proud U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft 40 years.
HAMDEN, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Robert “Bob” Edward Alchimio, 90, of Hamden died peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemarie Fasano Alchimio. Bob was born in New Haven on May 23, 1931, a son of the late Edward and Margaret Spambanato Alchimio, and had resided in Hamden since 1962.
He was a proud US Army Korean War Veteran.
Bob retired from Sikorsky Aircraft where he worked for 40 years.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially loved spoiling his two granddaughters. He is survived by his son Robert P. Alchimio and his wife Donna and two granddaughters, Alyssa and Alexa Alchimio of Wallingford. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Alchimio.
Bob’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 29th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be private.
