Rep. Elliott Celebrates Female Workers on Women-Owned Business Day
In Connecticut, there are 107,000 women entrepreneurs employing more than 90,000 people and generating receipts of $3.2 billion.

From CT House Democrats: To celebrate the success of Connecticut female business owners, state Rep. Josh Elliott, D-Hamden, will participate in the Women’s Business Development Council’s fourth annual Women-Owned Business Day Wednesday, May 3.
“It is important – now more than ever – to recognize the economic power female business owners hold in Connecticut,” Elliott said. “Women entrepreneurs have brought countless jobs and sources of revenue to the state. I am excited to recognize them for all of their past, current and future accomplishments.”

During the event, which is being held in partnership with CTNext, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from national thought leaders on policy issues facing business owners; learn about the only Microloan Fund in Connecticut for female entrepreneurs; and meet with elected officials and community advocates from across the state.
The event will be co-chaired by House Minority Leader Themis Klarides, R-Seymour, and state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller, D-Stamford.
