HAMDEN, CT — The Sacred Heart Academy basketball team improved to 6-1 with a 50-25 victory over Mercy on Friday night in Hamden.

The Sharks opened the 2025-26 season with four straight wins before dropping a 44-38 decision in a non-league game against Bedford High School in New Hampshire.

Sacred Heart Academy bounced back from that loss with a 62-37 victory over Bishop Guertin High School in another non-league game in New Hampshire.

Sacred Heart will take on Branford in a road contest on Jan. 6 at Branford High School.
