Sex Offender Charged with Failure to Verify His Address
The Hamden man allegedly failed to verify his address four times, according to police.

A Hamden resident who is listed on the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Sex Offender Registry was arrested Monday for allegedly failing to confirm his address as required four times, according to police.
On March 18 police were notified that Marcus Rivera had on four occasions not been in compliance with the sex offender unit, Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith said. Rivera had been convicted of third-degree sexual assault in 2007, Smith said.
Sergeant Colin Kearns conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Rivera, Smith said, and on Monday, Hamden Police arrested him while he was being detained by the Connecticut State Police in Middletown.
Rivera, 40, of 119 Cherry Ann St., Hamden was charged with four counts of failure for a Sex Offender to Verify Address. He was held in lieu of $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 18.
