Student Spotlight: Academic Achievements of Hamden Residents
See who made the Dean's List, Honor Roll or achieved high marks in recent days.

The following Hamden residents were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the national business honor society for undergraduate and graduate students at Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, April 10:
Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, and it is the highest academic honor that a business student can attain.

Hamden resident Stephen Humes recently sang in the tenor section with the Ithaca College Choir at the Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on April 19.
Humes is a senior Vocal Performance/Music Education major in the Ithaca College School of Music.
"Performing on one of the major stages is the quintessential musical experience for students just beginning their careers," said the choir's conductor Lawrence Doebler. "As our graduates move into the professional world, touring and performing at prominent venues have been instrumental in shaping their futures."

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is pleased to announce that Cara Barone of Hamden was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
Barone is pursuing a degree in Social Work at Fordham University. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
