VISIONS FOR VACANCIES: Nicolino's

For years Nicolinos was a favorite for those looking for a gift for the cook on their holiday list, but the gift shop at 4133 Whitney Ave. closed its doors several years ago and has been empty since.

so the prime commercial space on Whitney Avenue in northern Hamden just south of the Cheshire line has remained empty.

What would you like to see take up that space? Trader Joe's and Whole Foods seem to be popular picks -- would they be appropriate for the location? With DeMils on Whitney next door, would another restaurant be feasible there?
