A Glemby Street man is facing assault and weapons charges after he allegedly attacked another man who had inadvertently blew grass clippings on him, according to police.
The incident happened on Thursday, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, when officers responded to a report of a man with a rifle at 57 Glemby St.
A West Haven man was doing yard work next door to the home of Floyd Langley, 67, of 57 Glemby St., Smith said. The West Haven man told police that he was using a leaf blower on the property when he inadvertently blew grass clippings on Langley, who was working on his car parked in his driveway, Smith said.

Langley then attacked the man in the face with a shovel, Smith said, and after a brief struggle, Langley went back into his home and returned with a 12 gauge shotgun. By then the victim has left, Smith said.
Langley, who Smith said is a convicted felon, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He posted $2,500 bond and is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 20.
