2 Killed In Separate Hartford Shootings, 4 Others Injured

BREAKING: Investigators reportedly believe the first shooting was drug-related and the second involved a gunfight.

HARTFORD, CT — Two people were killed in separate shootings in Hartford over the past 24 hours and investigators are reportedly looking into the possibility that the two shootings are related.

In the first shooting on Durham Street, authorities responded to a report of shots fired around 7:10 p.m. and found two victims inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said one of the victims was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital around 7:45 p.m. and the second was treated and released.

The investigation is ongoing.

In the second shooting that occurred in the 1170 block Albany Avenue, police said one person had died and three other victims were taken to St. Francis Hospital.

The Hartford Courant repots investigators believe the first shooting was drug-related. In the second shooting, authorities found four male victims lying on the street after a ShotSpotter notification led police to the scene, the Courant reported. Investigators think the victims were involved in a gunfight with each other.
