20-Year-Old Dies In Fiery Crash: Police

The man was speeding when his car left the road and hit a tree, police said.

HEBRON, CT — A 20-year-old man from East Hartford was killed in connection with a crash Sunday morning, during which his car left the road, hit a tree and caught fire, according to police.

Authorities identified the victim as Anthony Michael Cardello.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. on West Street near Karlswood Road in Hebron, according to police. Cardello’s 2019 Ford Mustang was speeding south when, for an unknown reason, it traveled off the right shoulder, struck a large tree and caught fire, police said.

Cardello was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
