Coastal Low To Bring More Rain, Flooding Concerns To Northern CT

Here is an updated timeline on when you can expect more rain in Hartford and Tolland counties.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — More rain is in the forecast for Hartford and Tolland counties on Friday and Saturday.

An inch or more of rain is forecast beginning early Friday morning through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Jill Gilardi said a "coastal low sends periods of heavy rain our way tomorrow. All of the commutes will be impacted! Rainfall amounts will range from 1-3″, and locally higher. Flooding is a definite concern and because of that we have issued a FIRST ALERT for Friday."

She wrote that on Saturday more rain showers are forecast in the morning, and it should be dry in the afternoon. The forecast on Sunday includes sunshine and warmer temperatures. (Read/watch more forecast details at WFSB 3 TV here).

Tonight: A chance of rain, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 63. Northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Rain likely, mainly between 11pm and midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 54. North wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: A chance of rain, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. North wind 6 to 8 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 75. North wind 6 to 8 mph.
