Heavy Rain Turns To Snow On Monday In Hartford County: What You Need To Know

The National Weather Service has released estimates on how much rain and snow Hartford County is forecast to receive.

HARTFORD COUNTY, CT — Heavy rain is forecast to move into Hartford County Sunday night, likely after 7 p.m. and then the rain is forecast to change to snow and sleet by Monday afternoon, and some light snow accumulation is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service said nearly an inch of rain is forecast Sunday night and early Monday morning. The rain is forecast to change to snow and a wintry mix late Monday morning in Hartford County and continue through the afternoon hours.

Areas in the southern and central portions of Hartford County may see up to an inch of snow, while far northern sections of the county may see an inch or more of snow and sleet accumulation on Monday afternoon, the weather service said.

Tonight: Rain, mainly after 7pm. Low around 33. Southeast wind 5 to 14 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday: Rain, possibly mixed with snow and sleet before noon, then snow, possibly mixed with rain. High near 34. North wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.

Monday Night: A slight chance of snow between 7pm and 8pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 29. Northwest wind 11 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
