Storms, Rain Arrive Today, New Updates On Debby's Impacts For Northern CT
The remnants of Debby will bring "tropical downpours that enhance flooding concerns" to the area, WFSB 3 TV forecasters said.
HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — We're entering a very rainy period for the remainder of the week.
First, rain moves in after 5 p.m. Tuesday and it could be heavy at night and Wednesday morning. More than an inch of rain is forecast and thunderstorms are possible too, according to the National Weather Service.
Then the remnants of Debby are forecast to impact our weather from Thursday through Saturday before better weather arrives on Sunday.

"Showers this morning end as a cold front moves through the state, stalling offshore to our south. With partial clearing during the afternoon, temps top out in the mid to upper 70s," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "You’ll also notice decreasing humidity. Tonight, a wave of low pressure rides along the boundary to our south, producing rain across CT. We’ve issued a *First Alert* as locally heavy rain could lead to flooding concerns. In fact, a Flood Watch has been issued for our southern 4 counties. After rain ends tomorrow morning, the afternoon should feature drier weather. Thursday, for now, looks primarily dry and comfortable under a partly cloudy sky. Shower chances increase toward/after sunset. Then Friday, showers with a tropical connection to Debby’s remnants become likely."
"The moisture associated with the remnants of Debby are drawn north, along the same stalled front as we head into the weekend. We’ve issued another *First Alert* for tropical downpours that enhance flooding concerns Saturday. By Sunday, we should start to dry out with at least partial clearing," added WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
