Strong Thunderstorms Moving Into Hartford/Tolland County Now: NWS
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Hartford County. Here are the new details.
HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service said strong thunderstorms with heavy rain and gusty winds will impact portions of central Connecticut through 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
"At 310 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Ludlow Massachusetts south to near Newington Connecticut. Movement was northeast at 20 mph....HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph, heavy rainfall and pea size hail....IMPACT...Strong winds could cause minor damage such as downed branches. Heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas."
Locations impacted include: Springfield, Hartford, New Britain, West Hartford, Manchester, East
Hartford, Enfield, Glastonbury, Newington, Vernon, Windsor, Wethersfield, Mansfield, South Windsor, Ludlow, Bloomfield, Berlin, Rocky Hill, Longmeadow and Suffield.

HARTFORD COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and flood watch for Hartford County on Tuesday.
"Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible....Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations," the weather service said.

Here are the extended forecast details for Hartford County via the National Weather Service:
Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1pm and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. South wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
