Highway Was Underwater In East Hartford: State: UPDATE

Motorists were urged to use caution this morning after a heavy rainstorm.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — A massive rainstorm in East Hartford had a major highway underwater, according to the state Department of Transportation, but the state appears to have pulled its warning.

The DOT reports that flooding was evident on Interstate 84 west between exits 54 and 51.

Motorists were urged to "use caution" in that area.

The DOT alert came at 9:44 a.m., shortly after a line of very heavy rainfall moved through, but the alert is now no longer on the DOT's incident list.
