Jumper, Runners From Bloomfield Win New England Championships

BOSTON, MA — An individual and a relay team from Bloomfield High School took home first-place awards Saturday at the New England Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

Junior Vanessa Agyemang prevailed in the long jump competition by sailing 19 feet, 7 inches, establishing a personal best in the process. The 4 x 200 relay team of Saphyr Brown, Kiylah Williams, Nacquelia Fletcher and Caleah Baker also prevailed, crossing the finish line in 1:42.00.

Second-place finishers for Bloomfield were D'Asia Duncan in the 600-meter run, and the 4 x 400 relay team of Williams, Duncan, Jahniya Barclay and Soleigh Dixon. Agyemang wound up fourth in the 55-meter hurdles.

On the boys' side, senior Delante Senior was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles.
