According to the HPD, Walcott is responsible for the death of Shamyria Williams, 24, on July 5, 2024.

The HPD said officers located two victims inside a vehicle— a female and a male, both in their 20s.

The female victim, later identified as Williams, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The male victim was alert, conscious, and also transported for treatment, according to the HPD.

Detectives from the department's major crimes division and crime scene division assumed the investigation, police said.

"As the case progressed, investigators developed probable cause identifying Jubul Walcott as the suspect responsible for the homicide," wrote the HPD.

An arrest warrant was drafted, approved by a superior court judge, with Walcott turning himself in at Hartford Police Department headquarters on Nov. 14.

Walcott was then transported to the Hartford Police Detention Division for processing.
