Many Displaced After Fire Rips Through Hartford Residence
Both adults and children were impacted by an intense fire in Hartford late Friday night.
HARTFORD, CT — Two buildings were deemed uninhabitable after a Friday night inferno torched a three-story, multi-family home in Hartford, a blaze that then spread to a nearby building.
The fire displaced 17 people (six families comprised of 12 adults and five children), with the American Red Cross assisting.
According to the Hartford Fire Department, the two-alarm blaze was at 41-43 Pliny St. in the city's Clay Arsenal neighborhood.

In a social media post at 10:31 p.m. Friday, the HFD said when units arrived, "they encountered heavy fire conditions in the rear porches with extension to the Bravo side exposure building located at 37-39 Pliny St."
Once the second alarm was sounded, additional units arrived, and firefighters were able to knock down the blaze.

While the buildings were severely damaged, there was some good news.
"All searches were negative, everyone made it out safely. No injuries to civilians or firefighters reported at this time," wrote the HFD, adding the fire is currently under investigation.
The HFD also thanked nearby mutual aid departments for covering Hartford while the HFD battled the fire.
"Thank you to our mutual aid partners from East Hartford Fire Department and Town of West Hartford Fire Department who came into the city and responded to several calls while we were fighting the fire. We appreciate their continued support," wrote the HFD.
