Special Weather Statement Issued For Hartford/Tolland County Saturday Night
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for northern Connecticut. Here are the new details.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for a strong thunderstorm that will impact portions of northwestern Tolland, and northeastern Hartford counties through 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The strong storm was over Windsor Locks and Windsor, moving northeast at 15 mph at around 7:45 p.m. Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail were reported with this storm.
Locations impacted include: Enfield, Windsor, Agawam, South Windsor, Bloomfield, Longmeadow, Suffield, East Longmeadow, Ellington, Windsor Locks, Somers, East Windsor and East Granby.

Flash flood warning until 10 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for sections of Hartford County until 10 p.m.

"At 7:04 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include: Springfield, Chicopee, Enfield, Westfield, Windsor, Agawam, West Springfield, Ludlow, Bloomfield, Longmeadow, Suffield, East
Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Windsor Locks, Somers, Southwick and East Granby.
Original story: HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for northern Connecticut from Sunday evening through Tuesday morning.
The weather service wrote: "Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday night through Monday night. Storm total amounts range from 1.5 to 3 inches across the watch area, but localized higher amounts are possible especially where thunderstorms develop. Thunderstorms will have the potential to produce rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour, which will elevate the risk of urban and street flooding along with localized flash flooding. The greatest risk for storms will be across northern Connecticut, western and central Massachusetts."

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Areas of fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Areas of fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then showers between 2am and 5am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog after 11pm. Low around 69. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 1pm. High near 81. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 6 mph becoming northwest in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
