One Rushed To Hospital After Hartford Fire: HFD

The fire happened Sunday evening in a multi-family house in the Upper Albany section of Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — One person was taken to the hospital after a fire displaced three families in Hartford on Sunday evening.

According to the Hartford Fire Department, the blaze was reported on 84 Sterling St., a two-and-a-half-story, multi-family home in the Upper Albany neighborhood.

Firefighters arrived at a "working fire" on the first floor.

"Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire, got it knocked down, and it is now under control," wrote the HFD Sunday night.

All parties in the building made it out, the fire department said, and no injuries were reported for firefighters.

The HFD said one civilian from the second floor was treated on scene by ambulance personnel for possible smoke inhalation and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

The fire is currently under investigation, and the HFD's special services Unit is working with the American Red Cross to assist three families that were displaced.
