Over 90 Taken To Hospitals For Heavy Drinking At Chance The Rapper Concert
Over 90 people, many of them underage, were taken to hospitals Friday night during a Chance The Rapper concert in Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — More than 90 people were taken to hospitals, many of them underage, for excessive alcohol consumption at a Chance The Rapper concert in Hartford, police said.
Police said an estimated 21,000 people attended the concert Friday night. A large number of fans appeared to be in their late teens to early 20s and the 70 Hartford officers assigned to the event issued at least 50 underage drinking referrals in the surrounding parking lots of the Xfinity Theater.
In a news release, police said officers made several other arrests throughout the evening but the nature of those arrests is unclear.

"Tailgating, partying and excessive alcohol consumption was extremely prevalent," police said.
Most of those who were given underage drinking referrals were issued promise to appear summons and are scheduled to appear at Hartford Community Court on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

A Lady Antebellum concert is taking place at the venue Saturday night but police said they expect a much "lighter and calmer" atmosphere at the concert. Police said they would still be meeting to discuss what measures could be taken to prevent a repeat of Friday night.
