The mediums currently represented in the Parkville Art Gallery are blown glass, painting, collage, photography, and upcycled art.

Each artist was present throughout the evening to discuss their process and vision with visitors.

Opening remarks were shared by gallery owner and director, Miguel Matos, managing director, Meredith Longo, events manager, Rochelle Williams, and Amanda Roy, interim chief executive officer of the Greater Hartford Arts Council.

“It’s a space where people can come together. Hartford needs this. It’s a beautiful thing,” said Roy.

Parkville Art Gallery guests were taken with the expansive 4,000-square-foot space located at 1429 Park St. in the Parkville neighborhood of Hartford.

The building was constructed in the 1920s as a part of the U.S. Rubber Co. campus.
