Special Weather Statement For Hartford/Tolland County: NWS
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Hartford, Tolland and Windham county on Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATE: The National Weather Service said at 2:40 p.m. a line of storms with strong winds, downpours, and small hail will reach the I-91 corridor by 4 p.m. then I-84 into Worcester by 5 pm.
Drivers: Expect low visibility and minor street flooding. Some of these storms could become capable of producing wind damage, the weather service cautioned.
HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM COUNTY, CT — A special weather statement has been issued by the National Weather Service until 3 p.m. for northern Connecticut as strong to severe thunderstorms are possible.

"Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Hudson Valley early this afternoon," according to the weather service. "These storms will move into western Massachusetts and Connecticut after 1-3 PM. Any stronger storms will bring the risk of damaging wind gusts, hail and frequent lightning. Those with outdoor plans this afternoon and evening should keep an eye to the sky and be prepared to seek indoor shelter if threatening weather approaches."

This Afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. Some storms could be severe, with hail and damaging winds. High near 79. South wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 3am. Some storms could be severe, with hail and damaging winds. Low around 57. Southwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
