Timeline, Snow Accumulation Estimates For Hartford/Tolland County Released

More snow is in the forecast for Friday, and here is the initial snow accumulation estimates for northern Connecticut.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY — Another one to two inches of light snow is forecast to fall in Hartford and Tolland counties on Friday, but the bigger story is the very, very cold temperatures for the remainder of the week.

Low temperatures at night for the remainder of the week will be in the low teens, and daytime highs will be largely stuck in the low to middle 20s. There won't be any relief from the cold until next week.

As for the light snow chance Friday, the snow is forecast to fall during the day, but only 1–2 inches is forecast. Currently, the odds for snow are around 60 percent on Friday.

Thursday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 29. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of snow showers before 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 22. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: A chance of snow showers before 8am, then snow likely, mainly after 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday Night: A chance of snow, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of snow showers before 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 20. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: A slight chance of snow showers before 8am, then snow likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 27. Light north wind becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday Night: A chance of snow, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11. North wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
